In class writing

The picture I see is a starving person eat a plum from another person. The plum is not belong to the starving person. It’s a sad story, first seem plum as breakfast, I think this can show the two people are poor. They don’t have money to buy food. The plum is in the icebox I think it’s because they only have one, they have to cherish the plum. The word saving shows that this is the only food they have. “So sweet” means the flavor of the plum, I think the author also wants to show he feels good after he eats the plum. So cold shows the society is cold, no one helps them, and they feel lonely.
