In class writing David Dai

Nan's group
They did a great job on choosing the background music. The style of the music is more like a rap rhyme, so the beats of the poem also changed. The original version is a slow and peaceful scene. After they add the music I feel like it’s a sad story. But they have fewer movements, only jamaal moved from the bright to the stage. The only body language they have is at the end of the performance. I think after we perform the poem, we know that there are some other ways to read the poem. After we perform this poem out, we can know different meaning from the poem.

David Chau's group
In their group, they have a different performance. They keep moving, and stop at the end. They have enormous movements, they moving from bridge to the stage and during their walk they add some body language in their performance. In the beginning they stand together to open the performance, in the end they also stand together to finish their performance. This two actions make an echo. But when they stand on the bridge they only have few second to finish their line, so they Marigot speak fast. Sometimes it’s hard to hear. When they speak together during the walking, they can’t say the lines fluently.

Stella's group
They also make an echo during the performance, in the begging games part they say the title together, in the end they stand in a line and finished up together. In performance after they read the title they begin to move and three people formed a triangle. Danny and Stella can add more emotion when they read their lines. The three person separate their line unequally. Cassidy read the half of the poem and Danny and Stella read half of the poem. Danny and Stella can read more. They can also have a big movement, because I think the tricangle they formed is not very big.

Helen's group
This group actually did a great job on combining the performance and the poem. One person read the poem and others perform the lines out. Each person in the group has to read the poem, everyone has chance to read and perform. They have equal work to do. But in the performance, I saw Helen and Jasmine laughed. Especially Helen, I think she can practice more to avoid this problem next time. The background music of this group is soft and slow. This music is fit for the original version of the poem. The body language in this performance is exactly the meaning of the poem.

Nia's group
In this group their performance style is two people read and two people perform. The performance looks good. Two performer use their body language and sound to express their emotion. Two readers can read the poem in a sentient way, so that the audience can know what kind of emotion they are going to express. Also these two readers don't have to read the poem in same position. They can stand in a different places or move during the reading. I think that might make the performance more interesting.

Grace's group
My group also use the soft background music. We didn't change the meaning of the poem, we just revised the poem in our own words. We deleted some stanzas and revised the stanzas. In our performance we didn't have enough body language, we need to add some body language to express the emotion of the poem. Sometimes my speaking volume is too low that is hard for the audience to hear, so next time I should speak loudly.
