Poem analysis

In the poem there there is a stanza said" let water heal your body. Think of bathing as a ritual of new beginnings." I like this short stanza very much, I think author writes this stanza vividly. In the fist part of this stanza, the author said "let water heal your body." The author uses metaphor in this sentence. Because water can't actually heal one's body. We can seem water as a kind of medicine that can heal your body. After the author uses metaphor, this sentence has a connection with the next sentence in this stanza" Think of bathing as a ritual of new beginning." This sentence means after you use water to bath, your life will start from the beginning. Forget the mistakes you made, the bad things you did. You will become a new person. The author connects the two sentences and show how the life changes. The author uses metaphor to let the readers feel the scene by just read the poem. I think this stanza mainly discussed a person who has did some bad things, that he regret to do that. So he uses water to heal his body, in order to find comfort. Then the person trying to use water to forget the thing he did. The person also wants to have a new beginning. 

In the poem there is another stanza I like, " Step outside and breath deeply. Take in the smells of life, good and foul. Remember this day is a gift." In this stanza the author uses the technique "image." The words "step", "breathe". These words are some verb the author uses. I think this stanza is about how to enjoy our life. The author gives us many phrase to show why we should enjoy the life. "Step outside and breath deeply. Take in the smells of life" this line shows the what should we do. The author let us go to feel nature, feel the air, and feel our life. I like this line because I also like to enjoy my life. I like to spend my free time on travelling and go outside. "good and foul. Remember this day is a gift" in this sentence, I think the author wants to remind us either your day is good or not, this day is a gift. I think the author adds some religious things into this line. The gift is given from the god.

I also like" Have a place and a time to sit with your thought." I think this sentence provides another living style. Find a place and sit individually. Think about your own, and don't share with anyone. In a quiet place, people can focus on their thoughts or ideas. I pick up this line because I really like this kind of environment. I think I can calm down and be focus on one thing. I think the author wants to compare two conditions. Usually the workers have to work and they have to stay up late. When they are working at night they can't focus and they can't do things well. I think the author writes this line in the poem is to represent the workers, to saying the life the workers longing about. The workers need time and place to have individual things to do.
