Reflection
Three groups already finished performing the Fires in the Mirror. Aaron's group picked three short parts from different interviews, and they combined together together as a single monologue. They did a great job because I haven’t realize that this performance is combined by different parts in the book. The connection in this performance is good. They performed a scene about a person who appeal others to stop fighting and he thinks the police man won't attack them. He wants others to stop fighting and have a peaceful society. After Aaron's character said: " the police won't hurt you." He was attacked by a police, this shows the police topic. Yun can say more words in the next play he only says three or four lines. It can't show his perspectives
For David Wang’s group they are trying to show a argument between Jews and Blacks. In the beginning of the performance Joe and Helen were arguing each other. They also did some connection between the different interviews. But I have a question for David W. In the book, it says that when the actor read or act David's part they should say it in a ironic way and with some laughing. But when David W act that part he looks serious. In the end David W said his character's perspective. In their performance they provided different perspectives from different characters. Each of them telling the different perspective of violence
In our group we are trying to show the religious perspective from different characters in the book. We add many body languages, we changed our volume of speaking during the performance. I added many body languages in my performance, I also change the volume and accent during the performance. But I didn't memorize the script, that will disturb me during the performance, I have to keep looking at the book. Nan and Josh did a great job, they had eye contact with audience and they express their character's perspective successfully.
