I want to combine the “ New York Day Women” and the “ Night Women” together as one story.

Scene one: baby Suzette is sleeping, Suzette’s mom is serving a customer, and someone came and shouting at Suzette’s mom. “Why you are stealing my husband.” The woman spread this news to all the residents in the town. People in the street are talking and discussing about Suzette’s mom. They hate Suzette’s mom. They always making fun on her.

Scene two: monologues of Suzette’s mom and she decides to go to znew York.

Scene three: 20 years later, Suzette grows up, Suzette always see her mom stay at him, then has a monologue.

Scene four: Suzette feels mom doesn’t love her, she has a long conversation about Suzette’s mom true experience. Then Suzette’s momnologue about she understand her mom. Ending

I think it will be interesting because I combined two stories together to make the story more complete. I also create a new ending for the story. Combine four different characters to two is kind of hard but interesting, because I put the similarities of four characters together and make it to two characters.

The story is about when Suzette is still young her mom is a prostitute, although the mother hates the job, she still has to take it for more money. The people in the town of Haiti don’t like Suzette’s mom, they think Suzette’s mom is stealing other’s husband, everyone in the town is mean to her. Suzette’s mom thinks everyone is not nice, that’s why Suzette’s mom always asking Suzette some I weird questions. Such as do you give a seat to others. Because everyone is bullying Suzette’s mom, so that they go to New York for a new life. (From here begin with another scene, the timel8ne changed to 20 years later) when they arrived New York mom finds a new job. Although they go to New York, Suzette’s mom always staying in Brooklyn. She doesn’t want others to criticize her anymore, so she only go to work when she has to look after the children. Suzette grows up, and she feels mom doesn’t like her. She has conversation with her mom. Mom says she feels guilty, she thinks they come to a new place—Mew York is because of her. She tells the truth to Suzette about why they come to New York. Finally Suzette understand her mom.

Stage should be separate to two parts one is when Suzette is young and one is when they are in New York. The furniture is different, the setting of two parts of the stage is also different. So that it can shows they are in different places. But the setting for their house is kind of old, to represent they are poor. The costume should be like old clothes that is not fancy. For the light part I want to use lamp, because the most scenes will take place in the house. In the first two scenes the events are happening at night, so the characters can stay in the house and turn on the lamp. The off stage place just be dark is fine. When characters are having monologue point the light on them. I think I will need the sound of baby’s crying, I will use it in the first scene. I will also record some conversation between two people discussing about Suzette’s mom is being prostitute. I will use it in the second scene. I will play the record when the character, Suzette’s mom, is in the house. It’s like people discuss Suzette’s mom secretly.

First I want to show escape from their own country, love in family, understanding parents, and how people in the society treat others.
