2. What time is it? I don't really know the time period they are in but we will have scenes in the daytime and at night.
3. Where am I? Our play took place in the United States, and the characters will have conversations inside the kitchen of the house and the outside of the house.
4. What surrounds me? What is happening in the environment around you? Ma stays in the house with Caroline (character). Sometimes Caroline will bring Eric (character) back home. In the play, Ma brokes a Teddy bear (object)
5. What are the given circumstances? Ma stayed in Haitian before, then she came to the United States. In the past, Ma always made bone soup for Caroline in order to keep Eric away from Caroline. Right now Ma and Caroline have some unpleasant things happened that Ma brokes Caroline's teddy bear. Ma begins to think whether she is a good mom. She thinks she will become a better mom in the future.

7. What do I want? What do you want immediately? What does the character want overall?
I want to perform in an emotional way, I want to say my lines in an emotional tone. I want to know how to do the body language well during the performance. I think the character wants her daughter to have a wonderful life. Ma wants to find a man for Caroline who loves Caroline.
8. What is in my way? What are the obstacles to getting what you want?
When I perform I will feel nervous and it feels different when I practice. I feel like many people are watching me. I will afraid to make any mistakes on the stage. I always think the audience will laugh if I make any mistakes.
9. What do I do to get what I want? What actions do you take (both physically and verbally)? What tactics?
I will use and spend more free time performing. I will practice and encourage myself to be confident. I need to keep reminding myself that I can do this. For saying lines in an emotional way, I need to practice more on memorizing the lines. I think after I have a better memorization I can say the lines in an emotional way. I will also find someone to practice with me, I will ask for their advice about how can I improve my way to say the lines.
