1. I chose the story “ Caroline’s Wedding” from " Krik Krak" Edwige Danticat in the adaptation My character is Ma who is a nagging person and she also can't accept American culture.
The reason for choosing this story
● ( have many things to write about) I can clearly know what is the theme of the story, I think the theme relationship and identity is also the theme the book want to express so that I chose this story
●There are four characters in the story, Eric Ma Grace and Caroline. Change There are three main characters in this adaptation. On the one hand, we have three people in our group, on the other hand, we want to focus on the relationship of Ma Eric and Ma Caroline so that we decided to delete the character Grace
I think it's pretty good to be as a piece of theater
● The story is well organized we have start conflict and the ending
● The conflict is clear, the audience can notice where is the conflict. Ma broke the Teddy bear, ma push Eric

● I think the themes of the story is the relationship between each character. ex-original text in scene two is Caroline Grace and Ma. In the story Caroline doesn't like bone soup, Ma keep making it in order to let Eric leave Caroline
The identity, She can't understand her daughter very well because they live in a different country, they have different backgrounds. Ma loves Caroline but Caroline can't accept ( keyword bone soup is important in the story: In the story, Ma mentions lots of times. Haitian culture leave Eric) The bone soup is important because it let the story continue and it also let Ma and Caroline have an argument. (teddy bear is not in the story but I added to symbolize American Culture more freedom)
The character Ma in the book is a person who cares about anything and she is also a traditional Haitian woman. She keeps making the bone soup to show how tradition she is. But in the book at the end of the story before Caroline go to the ceremony She claims Caroline down when she saw Caroline is nervous. The story shows the progress that Ma changes from not understand American culture to accept a man who is not a Haitian

In the monologue part, I added body movements walking around, the facial expression I frown to show that Ma is confused about care about Caroline but why Caroline doesn't understand.
3. raise my volume
In scene 3 when I have an argument with Caroline, when I first time calling Caroline to drink the bone soup I used a soft voice, but when I third time calling Caroline to drink the bone soup I raised My voice to show Ma is angry, broke the teddy bear I use facial expression to show Ma is angry
In Scene two, the relationship between Ma and Eric, Ma and Caroline, increase the volume when I say" you stop calling me mom" to show that Ma doesn't like Eric and She thinks Eric can't be Caroline's Fiance. It can also show Ma's power in this family add body movements, hit the table, leave the table to show that she is angry about Caroline.
I used soft voice to ask Eric to give back the teddy bear to Caroline to show that Ma changed her opinion about Eric. Change her thought of daughter's love
● Position on the stage
● In order to show Ma’s confusion and her difficulties, I write her feelings all into the monologue. I think monologue is better than add a scene because I want to use the monologue to show Ma's feeling and the changing of her opinion. The monologue is from Ma's thought that Haiti culture is good, to understand her daughter and then understand her daughter and decide to changer herself. I think adding a monologue is more vivid.
In the adaptation, our theme is the relationship. Ma and Caroline's relationship The relationship between each character is very special, the mom from Haiti, daughter is an American citizen, Eric and Ma's relationship.

by acting Ma I learned that
Love (Ma: Should respect other's choice everyone is different, Caroline: should listen to your heart
Relationship ( keep a good relationship is important to a family, daughter grow up shouldn't care about anything)
● keep talking in scene two, to show her characteristic: talkative, care about everything about her daughter but not Eric ( doesn't care not to serve him well) Eric is guest
● Let Eric give the Teddy bear back to Caroline to show that Ma finally understand her daughter and she accepts Eric
●We have a special set up of the scene triangle.
It as same as Wall, Eric Ma stand in two sides of the triangle. can't see each other
● Ma sat in the middle of the table to show her power and Ma's chair is much better than the other two chairs

I think I did a big improvement compare the final to the first time.
I set lots of plans and I also talked to my partners, In order to have a better final performance.
I think I tried my best. I think after practicing with my partners I and my partners did a great job on cooperation.

Successful:
Emotion express, speaking clearly and fluently. Not nervous anymore. The first-time shy final is more active
Work on
I should add more movement for the monologue. I was like standing all the time
next time just stand there and add body language-facial expression watch other's adaptation video. I should use more time to find a costume that fits me.

2. have good cooperation with partner
3. be more confident
4. should have eye contact with your partner when having the conversation more vivid just like daily life
