In chapter one, the author describes Asaka as the god of earth, of plants, and of all growing things, She pushed a wilderness of herbs, of the bush to thicken the underbrush, keeping the trees forever green, forever productive." Actually, we can know that the peasants think Asaka is a very kind and nice god. People think she is very powerful that gives field and green to them. So that they can make money depend on the crops. Because in the text, people call this god a she, so that she is a female. Because Asaka is kind and nice, so I think her voice should be very sweet and soft. On her head, I think Asaka should put on a flower ring to show she is the god of earth. I think she doesn't have to wear shoes because the god of the earth should walk by feet on the ground. The costume for her should have the flower on it, also add some green on her costume. In chapter one, the author also talks about the god of the sea---Agwe. In the text, people said " Agwe how gentle he was then, How tenderly he treated the voluptuous Asaka. He adored her. Agwe's caresses nourished the fruits of her work and rained gently down on us, his benediction, the benediction of the gods. The peasants also think Agwe is a kind god that help them to cultivate food and vegetables. But in chapter seven, Agwe shows his another side. When Erzulie says what if people can't give love to the gods, Agwe just says " I shall destroy them all" I don't think Agwe is a kind and nice god like Asaka, I think just like Erzulie said Agwe is just a cruel of god and a selfish god. So that Agwe should be a man who has a deep voice and for him, the costume should in color blue to show that he is the god of the sea. I think he should wear formal to show he is gentle, but when he talks to others, I think the audience can still realize that Agwe is a selfish and cruel god. In chapter seven, it mainly talking about the argument between Erzulie and Agwe. In this chapter, Erzulie thinks she does all the right thing, and she is kind of afraid of Agwe. As the god of love, on her head, there should be a ring just like the angel. She should in white and not wearing shoes just like the angel. In the book, the author just talks about that all the people afraid of Papa Ge because he likes to take the soul from people.  I think his voice should be like a person who smokes every day, and he should keep holding an evil sickle. He should use a black hood to cover his head to show he is an evil demon.

I think four gods can just stand on a stair to show they have more power than peasants. When a god need to talk just use a single light to point on them to highlight them.
